Nestled between the villages of Clonmellon and Killallon Co Meath (on the Meath / Westmeath border) you will find Pheasant Lane, a charming period Farmhouse purchased by us in 2018. We have transformed it into a warm and welcoming retreat for guests wishing to escape to this rural setting.

In July 2020 we started creating this website to share the story of Pheasant Lane and paint the picture of what is to come, welcoming you to share our journey and hopefully come visit us one day ……

The story so far

By the time we had reached the end of the driveway approaching the house, we had already fallen in love with what has become our forever home. We met the wonderful owner and he regaled us with the history of the house, outhouses and of the wonderful times he and his family had here. A few days later , our bid was accepted and that was the start of it all……

We decided to live here at weekends to get a feel for the place and took our time in deciding how to turn the house into our home. During that first Christmas , we were unable to even close the windows.

The house had 3 small bedrooms upstairs a hallway leading to the rooms and a bathroom. We transformed upstairs into two ensuite rooms and replaced the low ceiling with lovely high ceilings that now hold our wonderful chandeliers.

We wanted the house to feel full of light, bright and spacious but warm. We moved the kitchen back into the middle room, opened up the old fire place….. (the amount of soot was unbelievable) and we turned the end sitting room into a downstairs bedroom ensuite. All our bathrooms are traditional style sanitary ware a nod to the past. Our beloved staircase hasn’t changed a bit.

Your time here goes at your pace, be as sociable or private as you would like to be ….. whether that is a nice comfy day in bed with a book or socialising in the sitting and/or dining room . Alternatively make yourself a brew or bring a glass of wine out to one of our many outdoor seating areas. Alternatively,  jump into the hot tub and soak away the stresses and tension of everyday or relax in our wood burning sauna. The beauty of here is you decide.

Whilst here , why not treat yourself to a wonderful holistic massage, reflexology or even Indian head massage in our treatment room or outdoors enjoying mother natures own music
